Top view. I am guessing that there is about equal amount of foliage on these two plants. They are in the same mix and have had the same nutrient feeding. One has a 12 inch diameter top and the other has a 24 inch. I think the difference will be the amount of light new leaves will get from the spread pattern as compared to the tight vertical. I am going to make an early prediction: the spreading foliage carrots will lead to the alien root structure..many branches. The verticle pattern will have a much longer carrot. This is just a guess..october will see if I predicted correctly.
