Tough question Wixom...Minnesota gets 15 hours and 38 minutes at summer solstice. Since I have plants always in different stages of growth i cant vary day length. I have settled on day length a few weeks before summer solstice... 15 hours per day. I use this meter to adjust the height of the lights for intensity. It measures PAR in uMols m-2 s-1. Using this meter and the formula DLI=PAR x hours of light x 3600 / 1,000,000 I can set the level that the plant is exposed to per day. Right now I am running between DLI numbers of 30 to 48. Still tweaking and still learning. Progress is being made though.
