Subject: Club root?

After 20 days with no signs of life I dumped out my pot to find the seed has a huge club root but never broke through.
I retransplanted with the seed above soil and now it appears to be growing normal.
I'm not looking for any records here just a nice "normal" growing plant/pumpkin. This was the only seed I had left or normally I would toss it.
Anyone here with experience growing a club root plant? Will it grow normal or should I just toss it. I don't want to waste space if there's a good chance it grows funky.

Really wish the form had an easy way to post photos, I'd like k e to see the root and what the plant looks like.

They can make a normal plant. I've grown a few.
