I had 2 8’ plants that were planted 18 inches apart and they had over 20 secondaries they were starting to grow in each other when both had females just over 7’ out. I pulled one where the female flower turned yellow and collapsed well before pollination then a few days later the female on the other also turned yellow. Could it be root competition between the plants or that they were simply too small? If it’s in the soil here’s the test from spring. https://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=357924 . I got an insane amount of rain this year too

A female aborting could be a root issue. Those grown in small containers, for example, could have all the right nutrients but the roots are so limited the plants simply cannot get enough momentum to produce anything viable.

Females often abort on small plants in growing stage and that's what your plants are doing (growing).

Yeah the plant is 10’ and the female is at 7
