It looks like I will be down to one garden next year with an area of 1200 sq ft. My nearest other grower is approximately 60 miles away so I plan on self pollinating my plant. I can’t locate a site to search for the heaviest pumpkin grown that was selfed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Selfed seeds are what got us to the weights we are at! It all started with the 1725 Harp seed, it was a selfed 1385 Jutras. That 1725 is at the root of almost every modern champions family tree.

Your pollinator won't have an effect on the final weight of the pumpkin you grow next year. That will be determined by the seed you choose to grow and growing conditions. Your pollinator will come into play for the potential of the seeds harvested from that pumpkin.

Could you grow a couple plants in 5 gallons pots so the root stress causes them to produce flowers for you to use on your in ground plant?

Mobeymike (Schmit) and Barlow had some large selfed ones. Multiple 2k pumpkins. 2350 Morse. I think the 2507 Haist might be truly selfed. I'm not sure about the bigger Mendi or Cutrupi, they may have been sibbed. Good question.
