Zero's cross section there is rot by the stem but I am convinced it formed after harvest and likely after carving (a week before the photo was taken). I am adding alfalfa pellets soon, it's almost impossible to get here without paying absurd amounts for shipping so I'll get it at a livestock feed store as 100 percent pure dried alfalfa pellets. Next year I'll try to have the soil very fertile because then I won't have to do much fertilizing and because the soil is cold in spring I'll put down the irt and use a nitrate based nitrogen slow release to apply before planting. Also all the fertilization will be don't through drip irrigation under the irt and through vine burieng. I'll either build a 7x10 hoop house or buy one for the early season. Each plant gets approximately 600 sqft but I'll let them grow on the grass a bit. Let's grow a monster in '27 hopefully over 1000 if I'm very lucky with my setup and the weather and all the rest complies 1500 or maybe 2000 but with 2 years of growing there's always 50 new things against you.
