Just thinking and rethinking. ...About the pruning issue and how it might (locally) increase the brix, but it doesn't necessarily move that sugar over to the fruit. We make an assumption that increasing the supply of sugar in one part of the plant automatically move that sugar to another part of the plant, but there are critical steps missing there. Namely, the plant has to realize that's logical, and also have the ability to do so. We assume plants are logical the way we are logical. If we don't have enough money in our checking account but plenty in savings, then we transfer some from savings... No problemo. It sounds so simple to us.

But I suspect it just isn't that simple. We treat it as a 3rd grade math problem. But its actually a 10th grade chemistry problem at best. Worst case, a masters degree in biochemistry.
