Got the 30 percent aluminet deployed tonight just ahead of some serious weather. 45-55 mph gusts forecast for tomorrow. Cutting it close but it's up and secured.
The combination of the aluminet and the wind fence should diffuse the worst of it. Not foolproof against a direct gust but meaningfully better than bare canopy.
Secondary benefit I'm thinking about: with an early May 29 pollination and a September 19 weigh-off, I've got 112 days to fill. Prolonging leaf efficiency deep into August is going to matter. The aluminet buys me that by reducing thermal stress to keep the canopy working longer. Not just a storm fix, a season-long investment.
