Subject: Bacterial wilt soil transmission

I have had to pull a plant due to bacterial wilt. Should I allow the neighboring plants to use that space or keep them out of it. It's unclear to me if soil transmission is possible

You should be ok to let them go over the spot, the main vector is the cucumber beatle which carries it over the winter and injects it into the plant when it feeds.

I would highly recommend using Phyton 35. I've had this problem twice and a long time grower had me use this. I sprayed with a ph of 5.5 to 6.0. I then cut the effected leaves and the plant survived a gave me a 1500 plus fruit. Nothing massive but for our area and the 4 hours less sun we get being this far south I was a happy grower that year.:)
Those bugs can be our worse nightmare above ground.
