Subject:  2024 Cinderella Style/ blossom down ?

I know a few growers tried this, and an equal number were not successful. Was it really that bad a year...? Was anyone successful?

I had two grow perfectly stem side down, they were being grown for Halloween pumpkins so I just let them go and they are both about 150 pounds. They look like bird baths but there was actually a hole in the ground where the stem grew outward. Pretty surprised they didn’t rot

Happy birds. Henry-the giant-pumpkin-grower ended up with his blossom going down not intentionally though. Maybe the seeds that seem to "want to" grow blossom down would be good ones to consider or maybe not. If the shoulders are heavy it puts a lot of weight directly atop the pumpkin.

But, if the entire pumpkin was sturdy and thick, that might work.
