At the Hard Rock National Pumpkin Weighoff Cindy Tobeck entered a squash. At this weighoff squash are allowed to compete for weight with the pumpkins. Cindy finished 8th. But the bigpumpkins.com listing separates squash from pumpkins so her 8th place finish is eliminated and placed in the squash category and everyone moves up a spot in the rankings. We just wanted to clarify as we’ve had inquiries about the change in placement for some growers.

That sucks, and I'm speaking as someone who moved up as a result of this. Shouldn't squash be able to compete with pumpkins for prize money?

That sounds right it qualified for eight place prize money but it goes in the GPC records in squash column.Does it get included in the top ten average. My guess is no.

No problem at all! Same thing with Bauman's Farm weigh off. It happens each year when I show a greenie. I still got my prize money for 8th overall, don't worry! :)
