That pumpkin was a rock! You wouldn’t believe what a rainy and cold season he had. About 10 days of sunshine. Congratulations Dale!

Wahoo Dale! Another amazing season! What is that three over 2000 lbs, never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined where you have taken pumpkin growing to in Alaska. And from what I hear it was a very cool cloudy rainy summer on top of that. Never easy in Alaska but you always get the job done. Im just glad I over built that lifting ring back in the day. Anyway, congratulations again on with another amazing season you are one of the elite pumpkins growers in the world, well done!!! JD

The silver-medal contestant, Keith Malone, grew a 600-pounder. It was a personal best. Theresa Phillips took 3rd with a 285 pounder and also took 1st for her beautiful green squash.

Dale, do you think you had more cloudy days then sunny days this season? What a strange season you had up there.
Again, great accomplishment this year in such challenging conditions!

Chris, Anchorage had 9 mostly sunny days this year for (M J J A ) and 7 days that reached 70 degrees or above with a high summer temp of 72 degrees, for the same time period, most of the duration was on the cool side (60 something ) and mostly cloudy, I probably had my biggest pumpkin leaves this year ever, as they were searching for the light , which led to a different set of problems and a lot of leaf staking , these plants are amazing and know how to adapt to environmental conditions

I have always loved to see your fruits, ominously visible in their clearly-clad 'homes', like 'Here I am - Rock You Like a Hurricane'; ...'Feed me now!'; They'd be great to walk by and see every day and feel the mounting excitement of your weighoff day approaching. Congratulations! eric g
