Wondering if you guys have ever gotten a lot of these. Tempted to do a second tissue test curious whats happening on this side/ back end of the plant... but its not really in the budget.

I have seen them before and had a plant that was putting out vines on the ends of them.

Last year I had a tendril that tried to do everything. It had leaves, vines and several female flowers. Very bizarre. At the time, my hypothesis was that the plant was making a last ditch effort to push viable seeds as the main pumpkin had aborted. You can see it at the 7:00 minute mark in this video. https://youtu.be/Gu2akvPsQl8

Yeah its got a lot of excess energy and nutrients at the base of the plant, nearer to the ends of the vines. I'm thinking extra energy + extra calcium is causing spontaneous cell division in the tendrils. Ive had to pull off at least 6 of these and there's vines, leaves, flowers, you name it, all jumbled onto the tendril. The plant is behaving normally near the pumpkin, and I think this is because the extra energy and nutrients have somewhere to go.

Hey, next time, bury what's needed of that abomination and pollinate a few of the flowers - It could be the plant's Second Wind! eg

The plant might have a second wind, but I don't! Lol! Good idea though, to maybe let it set some little halloween-decor females here in a couple weeks.
