I did a tissue test on this plant. The leaf pictures were taken the same day as the tissue sample.

The tissue test results are posted after the leaf pictures.

Looking at your test, your K is off the charts and you have a bit of balancing to do.

Work the calculator, add what's needed and remember less is always better then more.

Most of the top growers aren't feeding anything at this point because everything we need to get the plant to pollination should already be in the soil.

Hopefully others will comment.

Yeah I've never seen K that high lol. But when I boost up the deficiencies the excesses will come down. But yeah... starting the year without really balanced soil, I often feel like a dog chasing my own tail!

Healthy balanced leaves have a certain look to them, certainly my leaves on this plant were showing various symptoms. I have ordered some of the micronutrients I didn't have on hand so I will be add in some micronutrients without adding more nitrogen or potassium. If I get the amounts right, I can still get a good result.

for me deficence cooper. Be careful when adding it, but there is chelated copper, with low rate, which if you put it in carefully will solve that problem. The issue is knowing if there is enough in the soil, or not... Or the roots have not assimilated it, like other nutrients, because the soil was cold. How did you get that level of Potassium? foliar applications?

I was thinking he applied it during the final till, when he took the soil sample he must of grabbed a couple granular 0-0-50 pellets?
Or like you said, foliar application then didn't rinse the leaves enough?

Balance is the key to growing big. I'm sure Rmen is testing all season and adding and subtracting what's needed every couple weeks.
Its not the end of the world, but it sure can ripen the fruit much quicker then we want....

The potassium is from wood ash, excess organics, and the volcanic/granite soil.
John Kempf says that adequate manganese will downregulate excess potassium...
Anyhow, I posted this for other growers who may not have their plants dialed in perfectly. If we all posted pics of our plants when they dont look quite right and back it up with a tissue test, then we could learn a lot from each others results.

I figured the leaf splitting was a lack of calcium, but it seems in fact its lack of micronutrients.

Some "nutrient" symptoms could be weather related, in which case it wouldnt help as much to monkey around with nutrient the levels in the soil. But I've done soil tests in the past and I know most of my soil is poor, plus the weather has been good enough for normal growth, so I think the pics are symptoms of real deficiencies not just weather related.

...Things to think about.

Brandon, Plant-Prod makes a variety of products and this one covers all the bases for a multi purpose micronutrient mix, check it out.

Your nitrates are worse out of whack than the K in my opinion, and only made worse by the low sulfur.

I have only ever done two tissue tests and that was 11 years ago, but I came back low in the same micros. One plant was similar to your results, but you are way higher in N and K, and I thought I was off the chart with N on it.
