With everyone starting their seeds in the next couple of weeks. Which 2022 seed do you think will perform best this year?

I'm going with the 2425 Daletas

Note the question isn't which is the best seed, it's which will perform the best. The best seed won't perform well if no one plants it.

I'm interested in what the 2424 Caspers grows. I have a feeling the 2702 is good for a cross, even if it didn't perform exceptionally well last year. I think a decent number will be grown. I believe Pete is growing it himself.

I saw the 2424 and the 1840 get weighed...they were both awesome pumpkins both seeds should do awesome!

I’m going with my 1989.5 I think in the right hands it will produce some mega boulders!

I am going to guess it will be a seed from Dave Stelts' patch. I am going to say 1912.5 Stelts

McMillin Giants

Salem Ohio

I’m going with 1819 & 2147 Marshall.
2554 Andruz & 1747.5 Bailey. I’ve got a really good feeling about these crosses.

There's some great ones out there. I'll go with what I own right now: 2554 Andruz, 2493 Wolf, 1953 Daletas, 1904 Sperry, 2350 Morse, 2006 Wolf. I think any of those has the right stuff. The question is does "Garwolf" have the right stuff and does Garwolf's dirt have the right stuff, and will Mother Nature stay of of my patch???

2006 Wolf it just sounds right! Also doesn't look that bad either.

Of the 2022 seeds, 2554 Andrusz and probably the 2493 and 2006 Wolf.

I’ll say one of the two LeBlanc seeds. Or maybe both

So many good ones on paper. I'll throw in 2168.5 Werner, 2342 Stelts. Growing both the Wolf Seeds so here's to the best part finding out!

lots of big potential crosses made in 2022. I like the 2332 paton. My guess is the 2006 wolf will grow many monsters because its big and orange and will get grown a lot.

In October we need to make a note to come back to this page and see who the true Pumpkin nostradamus is!

Anything McMillin - Whenever I pick up the jar they are in, they start bouncing around, reminding me of Mexican Jumping Beans when I was about 6, lol---
Probably the 1541 McMillin '22 (2030 Kisamore X 2356.7 Paton) will continue on with its Extreme Fatness, although I may grow the 1438 McMillin '21
(2517 Haist (2005 Haist X Self) X Self), as there is a cross I have in mind for it. A seed in a jar is worth two on a web page, lol, so, somebody aughtta do
(McMillin X McMullen)! A rare opportunity, lol---eg

I think the huge OTT of the 2359 Geddes makes it an intriguing prospect. With a little luck, imagine if its progeny went heavy to chart.

Probably a mistake to fall asleep on the 885 Bierle. An affordable 1885 selfed grown in 400 sq ft. of fresh soil not fully dialed in.

I don't see many talking about the 2907 Paton! I think it will have great potential, with it haveing two great seeds in it.

If I can only pick one I'll go with the 2554.

A great set of data could be had if at the beginning of each year, once the plants were outside in the ground, each grower submitted the names of the seeds they're growing to a data base. Then we would have something definitive. But, not having it lends itself to the assertion of totally unsubstantiated guess work and conjecture which, from my perspective, is far more fun. I mean, why hunt Easter pumpkins if you already know where they're hidden?

Yup - I conjected above, lol and I usually stay away from that as it is merely guessing at anything, which is so insubstantial. I had just finished watching The Ten Commandments and I'm all about obeying everything now;
Plus, I just wanted to bring up 'Anything McMillin', lol---eg

I'm not going to say a seed even though I do like that 2425 Daletas cross.

I think the wheel (1535 Andrusz) might be a sleeper. I think it's better than the 2554 on paper, though it won't be grown nearly as much if at all. I plan on growing the 2554

I'm going against the grain and going with a 2147 Sippel, I think it could be the Sleeper seed.

That 1935 Ford grew some nice fruits, I’ll be growing the Sippel. Since Mike picked it, give me the 2063 Croyle.
