You noted that the plant required a lot less water than the full size plants. Can you give an idea of how many inches of natural precipitation the plant got last summer?

I imagine it would be proportional to the size. 150/1000. ofc you probably want to water the area around the plant, since roots don't keep to 150sf
|

We had an extremely dry summer in the New England area last summer. Maybe 2-3 storms with 1 inch of rain. So the plants were very dependent on my watering as the grower. Finally in September a couple significant rain storms totaling 5 inches each drenched our garden.
