Can anyone here tell me how, when, and where they're applying Rootshield. Is it worth the very high price? What's the application rate you use? The rates on the product have a broad range.

I haven't used it in many years, it will help prevent root rots like damping off on seedlings. Also,I think it does provide season long benefits once the roots are innoculated in the seedling stage. It's hard to say if it is worth the price.(as jt js wjth any of the products we use). You can make a little go a long way when you innoculate the tiny seedling in a small amount of potting media.

I used it. It seemed like an effective product, as you note, its just a question of how much, and where and when to apply it, so that its economical. Pumpkin leaves can channel water nicely down to their root nodes. For an expensive product, probably best to not only apply it, but then rinse off the residue into the soil as well. If it goes where its needed and isn't wasted, then its probably economical.

Application Rate: Add 3-pounds per 1,000 sq ft. Tilled into soil. WOW, and I mean WallaceOrganicWonder. Gee, that's funny - the same incorporation method I recommend for Mycorrhizae. If you use it only in the planting hole, then roots that protrude elsewhere downward are SOL without manual intervention, my usual rant. I wonder if Mycorrhizae and Rootshield work well together. Well, that'll be for research later. Doesn't seem to be MUCH more expensive than Mycorrhizae. It'd be funny to find that the Rootshield Plus G constituents are ALSO found in native, forest soils, like Myco is. Well, that'd make sense but it still seems funny, lol---eg

Says it for ME, anyway:
https://gpnmag.com/article/using-mycorrhizae-professional-mix/
"Growers often ask whether other biological products can be used with mycorrhizae. Rootshield and Actino-Iron have been shown in independent research to be fully compatible with mycorrhizae in soilless mixes, so these can be included if desired. There are other helper bacteria or fungi that are often added to a mycorrhizal blend. which stimulate and support the growth of the mycorrhizal colonies." eg

So - I bought Rootshield WP which will arrive today. Here's my plan; tell me where I'm going wrong. 1. I'll soak my seeds in a little of it. 2. I'll use the soak water to moisten the soil as I plant them in my indoor pots. I'll also be adding granular Azos. 3. When I plant them outside I'll drench the planting hole and the plant with WP also adding Azos and a couple of WOW starter packs. 4. I'll use a pump sprayer to apply it as I bury; again, along with Azos until the plant is pretty much grown out. 5. I'll apply a fully drench with overhead watering later in the season.
