This is one of many ways to keep the bugs and moisture from a freshly pollinated female. A snipped off, long tendril works in a pinch when "you know who" did not bring a piece of twine or nylon stocking out to the patch with her this morning. Just wanted to share this with you guys. The leaf that hangs over the female will also act as an umbrella to keep water out when over head irrigattion is running. The leaf is held back for photographing with a bamboo stake. Gophergirl
