Picture of some sunflowers along my house in NJ. Sunflowers on left are experimental hybrids sent to me by the breeder of American Giant Hybrid. The tallest sunflowers were sent to me by Richard Hope in the UK. They are a strain of the Giant Single variety. The corn on the right is a tropical variety of maize named Jala. Below is a giant marrow from Robinson's Mammoth Onion seed co. in the UK. The tallest sunflower is ~10, and the tallest Jala is ~10. Some of the Richard Hope sunflowers prematurely put on heads and are only going to get 9 feet. The tallest one is probably going to get to 13 feet at least. Not as tall as I was hoping.
