My "ginormous" beet. It weighed 20.53lbs. without any of the leaves. As an experement I started about 5 beet plants in 4" peat pots near the end of February. Only 2 seeds germinated and were then set out near the end of April. One weighed 19. (something) and the other (pictured here) was the 20+ pounder. All my other beets started the normal way did squat! Hmmmm?
