I was thrilled that my soil pH was 7 and I hadn't done anything!! Well, if it seems too good to be true...... The old pH meter was faulty, soil tests came back with ~ 5.5 pH and my new pH meter agreed. I added mucho groung lime and in the spring the pH was still way too low. I then added liquid lime with a hand sprayer. It took days & days but I finally got the pH a bit above 6 and rising.
