Normally, I try not to dig, but my 1370 Rose is the only seed that hasn't popped up yet. Saturday after my other seeds were up I carefully checked the 1370 and a little nubbin' was pushing out. I put it back in, and it still hasn't popped up. I checked again this morning and it looks about the same as before, except the blunt little root has pushed out slightly more. I peeled off the seed coat and the embryo looks OK as far as I can tell. I stuck it back in the soil mix and prayed (LOL).
Am I wasting my time, or is there still hope? Is there something I can do to "shock" it into growing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Charlie

Crank the heat and add a mild solution of seaweed and fish to it. Cranked my heat up to 90 to 92 degrees. Sounds like you have the making of a club root which the jury is still out on. Nothing to lose at this point.

I'm having the same trouble Charlie. My 1370 has yet to show signs of life despite being put at 85 degrees since Saturday afternoon. My 1139 Fisher is also very slow and seems to be in the exact same situation as your 1370. A little nub but not much else. Looking forward to hearing some comments as well.

I hope it takes off for you!

Thanks, Drew and Brian. I think it probably is a club root. I'm not giving up on it. Hopefully it will come up eventually. Too valuable of a seed to give up on.

My 1370 took 72 hours at 90 degrees which is 24 longer than some 2004 seeds I started. The 869.5 Calai '99 is the only one still not up.

These were all in baggies so there is less waiting. If they pop we know it right away.

My 1370 last year was a slow germinator. Turned out also to be a flat vine.
