When Captan is applied to a sprouted seed, what effect would it have, if any, on Micorrhizae (sp?) that are sprinkled on the seedling's rootball several days later?

I am guessing there is no effect, but I have never used captan, so I am unaware of how long it lasts, or how well it permeates its environment.

i'll tell you from my own experience, only use it to dip a damp seed into, then place into a very open little planting hole...i used it throughout my seed-starting mix last year, and it kinda stunted and delayed my sprouts. had to re-plant about 5 seeds, one being the 805, and the ones that DID get double planted, because there were two now, one stunted and one fresh without Captan, the stunts never DID
grow very well after they were planted....
seedling growth trouble could have also been from other factors, but DO NOT! use it
for anything other than a very local, right at the seed,
germination helper. my dime's worth for the day! eric

Agree with Eric, I would never treat the seedling with anything, no rooting hormones, no fertilizers. Most of that stuff tends to burn the young rootball. Just pure good soil for the first days of development.
