Nice. Perfect example of letting the plant choose. The plant might have sucked the energy back out of that first one and given it to the second one? Hardly any energy wasted, maybe?

That would be interesting to know if the plant is capable of drawing nutrients back out of the already established fruit tissue.

I have no way of knowing. But I have suspicions that they will do this. Sort of re absorb from the fruit during stress.
I think Rodebaugh was close to showing a two way flow in and out of the kin at the end of the season. But maybe that was just a dehydration/rehydration thing.
