since they are a hard shell, if they keep growing they can crack... at least mine have. i don't know if they would "split" as i picked mine within a week of that. just watch closely if that happens. |

No splits on my Bushel Gourds yet. And we had almost 6" of rain over 3 weeks. Last week has been dry so my concerns of a split have subsided. |
