            | cucurbit | Indiana | Some of these large gourds need 140 160 day growing season. Is anyone getting ready to start some bushel seed? I might start some soon. What say you? | 3/8/2018 6:46:54 PM |

            | Mike F. | Hanson Ma | I think your actually to early. They don’t do well with cooler temps. They are better off being planted a little later than pumpkins and fruit only need 45 to 70 days. Still some debate on that though. | 3/9/2018 7:54:26 AM |

            | Pumpkin Shepherd | Georgetown, Ontario | I think 45-70 days is right on the money going by past experience. Any longer than that and they start to dry out and lose weight. I don't think an early start is really an advantage. My plants sit and do nothing until July when they really take off. I've had my heaviest fruit from Late July/Early Aug pollinations. | 3/9/2018 8:58:27 AM |
