            | Smoky Mtn Pumpkin (Team GWG) | sevierville, Tn | Almost exact age as last years and seemed to be done. Was barely growing. Vine was dripping like crazy when i picked it. But i don't know, really surprised. | 10/4/2015 7:30:03 AM |

            | big moon | Bethlehem CT | I wonder if yours started to dry out a little bit and lost all that weight. I am always shocked by what these things way. I grew a couple of plants in a field about a mile from my house. I never watered or did any follow up care. Beside a single hoeing and cultivation just as the vines started to run. I brought them to the Durham fair because my pumpkin had rotted. I was thinking they would weigh maybe a hundred pounds or so. One weighed 170 and the other was 163! I don't even see how a rock the size of those gourds could weigh that!

            | cojoe | Colorado | When we measured on a flat surface the watermelon chart said 208 lbs. I weighed 170. I think it was still growing but we ran out of summer. Like Chris says there neat to grow. I had lots of question about it at Ft. Collins weigh off. | 10/5/2015 1:53:04 PM |

            | Dig n Doug | Webster Groves, MO | Joe/Chris,You are right in saying these are fun plants to grow. I am still learning. The trick is figuring out when they peak in weight. My season is done this year after weighing my best gourd at the Republic (GPC) weigh off. I was happy with the 210.5 lb. result. It was est. at 193 lb. Best of luck to all growers who still have gourds to be weighed. Doug
