Subject: Lateral crack

I made a slight crack while trying to position a lateral off the main vine. Will it heal or should I bite the bullet and remove the lateral. It just happened so obviously there isn’t any wilting on the lateral yet, but was thinking I don’t want to chance any infection if it’s going to die regardless. |
