Some people suggest later...I am doing a test. I am growing one 57 Shymanski just like an AG which was started April 25, and was pollinated this morning. I have 6 other Giant Field Pumpkins that were started Memorial Day weekend.

I'm trying to wait till mid july on my 4 plants.By then the fruit will be 20 some feet out and the plants will have run out of space.I'm going to have to go earlier on a couple of them.I doubt theyll make it till contest time with the warm season were having.

Does the GPC have an early weigh in for field pumpkins like they do for tomatoes?

nope.
Field pumpkins have better shelf life than tomatoes, but you will likely lose a bit of weight. I'm shooting for a late july pollination myself.
