Hello, Lady Sybil, Vimes' wife here, He has just finished a super deep dug garden bed, fourteen feet long, four feet across, and deep dug to four feet and raised, for an enthusiastic new gardener. The bed was backfilled with clay and sand mixed with very aged chicken manure, aged goat manure, other amendments, and Rhizogen for the beneficial microbes and mycorrhizal fungi. The woman he dug the garden for would like to put a pumpkin at one end and let the vine run across her yard? Would anyone have a seed for a good field pumpkin, 100 pounds or so or a very good cross over 50, to donate for her garden? It will be a demonstration garden for the community, and we would monitor it and be happy to give seeds to anyone interested, including whoever gives the seed for it. Of course we would send the bubble envelope with postage. Right now our pumpkins are doing quite well, particularly one on our MacKinnon 103 crossed with the 162.
