Hello,
Still being new at this, I am trying to find out how to get in touch with John McKinnon and perhaps get some seeds from the world record field pumpkin. My wife and daughter and I, here in East Texas, do lots of community garden projects and free gardening projects with kids. Many are interested in doing projects to grow different strains of giant pumpkins in Texas, and we would greatly appreciate the chance to start a giant field pumpkin project. We have had great success with various kinds of heirloom pumpkins, but have not yet done projects with field pumpkins. If we could get some seeds, we would grow them out at our community gardens as well as help kids start some additional field pumpkin gardening projects and then would offer free seeds back both to local kids and to any interested member. How many seeds are you looking for? They are going at auction for a pretty hefty price. I do not have seeds from the World Record Pumpkin, but have very many Giant Field Pumpkin Seeds. Including my own 118.
