First year growing big sunflowers...are there clubs or organizations that focus on sunflowers? Where can I trade or obtain tall / large headed sunflower seed. I had a member of big pumpkins share with me some sunflower seeds last year and grew a 13 foot black seeded sunflower. My biggest problem was slugs and snails. Wow, do they love sunflower seedlings.

If you cut the bottom out of a 5 gallon pail and put it over the seedlings the pest and rabbits won't bother them
