I had a 13 inch 3 fused tomato going, but then, amazingly, there were three rainstorms in a row! This was too much water, and it rotted. I pulled of the fruit, and was wondering if it was too late too pollinate. I am in a zone 5 climate, and have a mid October weigh off. I would have too let some suckers grow, and form flowers, but would like to get another fruit set. Is it too late?

Do your best to get something to the scale. Green tomatoes are acceptable at weigh offs. The Spaziani 6.66 was a big green tomato Rick brought to a weigh off. Last year I won a weigh off with a big green tomato.

I know, I was just wondering minimum DAP, and how long it would take for a sucker to develop enough for a fruit, and if it would be worth it.

I would say a good DAP would be 25 or more. On average I have found it takes 10-15 days for that tomato to be blooming. That would set you at 40 days from seeing a bloom to a decent tomato.

It will be really close. Do you have and secondaries forming already. Go for it nothing to lose!

I think it's too late for an outdoor tomato but if you can artificially crank it up to 80 degrees anything is possible.
