Due to the Covid situation, many restaurants in New York City are closed or operating in a reduced manner. Because of this, there is much less garbage in the city. Garbage is what the rats there eat. Since there is little food, the rats have started to kill and eat each other. Who would have thought that?

Rats are big time cannibals, I have killed them before in traps and if the traps are just left there other rats will come and "clean" up dead rat carcass. Leaving pretty much nothing behind.

Interesting side note about NYC city Gardens. I once did a soil test for a friend who was thinking of doing a small garden behind her Manhattan brownstone apartment. The lead was way too high to be growing vegetables in. I told her if she did plan to plant a garden she would have to bring in clean soil.
