Be sure to let Materdoc know that the draft is a week from this coming Sunday. Don't worry about the check. I put a hold on it at the bank. As far as the cucumber contest, there are A, B and C groups. Iceman is in the C group. You figure it out. Go to the cucumber forum for further information.

I have to complain...how can I be an A grower when I have never grown more than an eating cucumber....and how dare you to make Dan MacCoy a B grower? hmmmm, thinking about it maybe mid 12's is B level. I am going to have to start some White seeds..and maybe justify my A status.

I thought about joining the tomato team challenge this year...then I thought deeper..I am more concerned about figuring out how to store for long-term roma tomatoes than growing giants. Canning can't be that difficult? Future years...I I will be in this contest.

Depends what your goal is bnot. . . for soup or sauce why can romas just can the giants. . . I still have six quarts. Get a food strainer/sauce maker & you can run cherry tomatoes in it also. Seeds and skins come out the end. Doesnt matter what size goes in... it all gets squished anyhow.

It is like I have a new hobby in growing...how much of my own food can I grow for a year. I am looking at getting chickens. Have to grow something for them to eat also. In the past, garden space was limited but had more time available than needed. Now, I have much garden space, just not enough time available.

Good luck to everyone in this years team tomato challenge. Have fun and make some good friends.
