            | Alan E. | eastern Ontario | I find most male and female flowers open in the hour or so before sunset, earlier on an overcast day and later on a bright sunny day. They are getting ready to be visited by night flying insects that we don't have here.
So,evening pollination when the flower is freshest works for me.Occasional a laggard will be open in the early morning,so I catch it then.

This year for me,fewer females, poor setting rate and very slow growth. Can't figure out why?

            | Dutch Brad | Netherlands | This year almost no females and few males here too. It doesn't get dark till about 10:00 pm. here and I usually pollinate at 8:00 pm.
Yesterday I pollinated two females on one of my 122s. That plant had two males. The other 122 had one male and no females.
