            | Palm Chicken | McMinnville, Oregon | My apartment dwelling friend told me of drying gourds inside his tiny apartment! Knowing the moldy mess I get every year I told him it was a crazy idea? He later showed me a copletely dried GREEN Longgourd. He achieved this by oiling it with vegetable oil to eliminate mold? Why he did this ill never know, I just left it at that!DBH

            | SWdesert | Las Cruces NM | nice to know! I think some of that has to do with "age" of the gord or thinkness of the skin. I believe young ones shrivel and rot out *or* may be thiner skin ones do (or maybe the same thing?) ... Older ones dry to form. Sun may have something to do with browing and those *spots* adds character but would be nice to have a perserved "green" one! Thanks! | 5/30/2011 11:13:34 AM |
