            | pumpkin bell | Alabama | I have tried to soak them over night and then putt them in a pot at 80F and I cant get them to sprout. does anyone know the best way to sprout them? | 3/3/2011 4:35:24 PM |
            | Iowegian | Anamosa, IA [email protected] | Try a little warmer, like 85 to 88 | 3/3/2011 5:33:50 PM |
            | tallcorn | Linden, Mi., | I file the edges, soak them for 15 min. in 10% peroxide, then germination them on a heating pad (in a pot) | 3/3/2011 5:36:37 PM |
            | Andy H | Brooklyn Corner, Nova Scotia | How long have they been in pots? It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. | 3/3/2011 6:53:07 PM |
            | tallcorn | Linden, Mi., | It has taken 5 to 14 days to germination, be for I started using the heat pad, it would get one out of 10 - 12 seeds | 3/3/2011 7:35:08 PM |
            | Andy H | Brooklyn Corner, Nova Scotia | LG seeds aren't like AG's, some pop with little effort, I went 100% with 122 Eaton and 95 Seca, 10 seeds total, and 0 % on a 101 Corkum, 16 seeds. I have had seeds sprout with no heat and some won't no matter what. A long bath with 10 % peroxide with a small amount of kelp in a 85+ degree sauna will increase your odds, the rest is up to mother nature. | 3/3/2011 10:15:32 PM |
            | sambo | Sparta, NC | I germinate my lg seeds at 90-92°. | 3/4/2011 6:24:32 AM |
            | springwater | Gays Mills,WI | They like a little more heat than pumpkins. We germinate ours the same as Andy H. with good results. Make sure the soil is not to wet or they will rot. | 3/4/2011 9:51:06 AM |
            | tallcorn | Linden, Mi., | springwater, you hit on something - soil to wetI lost a lot of seeds, (soil being to wet) -- pumpkin, watermelon, long gourd

            | Palm Chicken | McMinnville, Oregon | Dont give up on th gourds! Have your pots moistened ahead of time, but dont continue watering? I have had several gourds arrize from bone dry pots ive set aside. they take much longer than pumpkins. | 4/28/2011 1:59:36 AM |
