It was a beutiful day and I found myself walking the patch imagining what the new year might bring, when I came across the carefully stacked rotting gourds that I had placed outside on screens as previous years? I rotate them and it seems to work well for dried moldy gourds. My apartment dwelling friend insists on drying indoors? I thought he was crazy, and waited for the mess? He proceeded to show me completly dried GREEN gourds??? Amazed I had to know the secret? He found that by oiling them allows them to remain green with no rot???? Amazing??? We concluded that the oil must smoother any mold spores??
