I have a question about heat. Last year I kept one of my watermelon plants in a small cold frame early and pretty much kept the cold frame closed. There were days it would get to 120 inside that cold frame and the watermelon plant actually seemed to like that much heat. This same thing would have fried my AG plants...(done it) Anyone know what type of heat these things can handle? Obviously they do well in the heat based on where they grow best, just looking for some feedback.

They seem to do ok in high heat as long as the temperature cools at night. The big problems come when both the day temps and night temps stay extra high over the entire 24-hour period. Some parts of the plant's 24-hour life cycle stop in extreme heat periods when the night temps don't drop. My working experience with high temps has been at no more than 116 degrees f.

I would try to keep it at less then 95. They wont fry like AG"S but would do better if cooler then 120 ;)
Keep the nights above 55, 65 is even better. Thats probally why it did well at high heat, the latency carried over to the night.
