Just finished my first year growing Melons and I am going to put a little more time and effort into it next year. While the 167 pounder I grew looked big to me, I know I can do much better. I am curious as to what others think the best root stock is for grafting? I plan on doing it myself so it would have to be something I can actually get. Looking for opinions, not whether or not grafting is a good thing or not. Thanks Scott Steil

Fisher, I used cucurbita ficifolia to grow my 224. It was the only rootstock I grew that had no problems. And so I give it my endorsement and will try to grow it again. Seeds may be found on eBay. It is also called shark fin melon. Gary, there are some good videos on grafting on Youtube. Just do a search.

I want to know that myself. Perhaps Nathan or Chris will assist us with an answer.

Grafting is real easy,Not difficult at awl.Wizzy

Its more about aftercare then the procedure.
Keep them Warm & humid for 1 week then slowing bring them out of the chamber.
