I was wondering how everyone gets their seeds out of the melon for drying. The way I am doing it takes a long time!

i use a home made sifter. scoop out as much seed & as little pulp as possible, put on sifter, move around with my hand pushing the pulp through & leaving the seeds on top. Rinse, do again. Takes about 1 hour to do a melon. Don't do when the melon is cold or you will freeze your hands off !

I use some 1/4 inch hardware cloth.I call it rabbit wire for cage floors.only 1/4 inch instead of half inch.Cut& bend the corners over a milk crate or 5 gallon pail. Then push melon flesh through screen. Then dry seeds on a pc of screen for 2 weeks.a fan works good so they dont get mold on them,if they do spray with a lite bleach water solution 95% water 5% bleach.Warning!!Bleach is very toxic, more is not better.

Yea that's what I use " 1/4 inch hardware cloth.I call it rabbit wire for cage floors" I made my sifter as big as my wheelbarrow, so it just sits on it. The juice & pulp go in there & I have lots of room to move the seeds & pulp around in the sifter.
