My Giant Watermelons are off to a good start. The 2 plants that grew from 7 potted seeds are doing well. VInes are now out to around 30 inches and starting to show great promise. I made up a manure and molasses tea last week and it curled up a few of the leaves. Didnt expect that. Took about 4 days to straighten out. Didnt know that this tea could do that. made it with a scope of dirt and 2 half shoves of horse manure, 1 jar of sulfur free molasses in a large 5 gallon tub that I had let the water stand for 3 days to evaporate the cholrine before making the tea. 24 hrs later, I stired it and poured it on the plants in the garden. About one quart per plant. Was starting a new bath, but before I could add the molasse a few days later, I noticed thousands of mosquito lava, so I dumped it out and started it over. Nothing is more anoying than pecky mosquitoes biting me in the garden. Wish me luck.
