Its dark thirty (5:30)am I'm waiting for daylight to water them plants & spank some weeds.It will be low 90s all week.Thats A/C for you southerners.Hotter then Hell for us Yanks.What time do you wake up your melons & kins??GOT HEAT???

It has been over 100 for the last 3 days and will be again today here in Knoxville. Yesterday was 105 which is a new all time high for this part of the country. If you don't do it early you don't get it done. Yes, we "got heat" Mark.

Smoky Mtn Pumpkin (Team GWG)

Mt LeConte here in the smoky mountain national park hit 81.5 yesterday. It had NEVER hit 80 up there till the last 2 days. WOW ! Yea we got heat !
Melon gains suffered too, 2 more days to go :(

I changed my water schedule. I'm running soaker hoses from 2:30-4:00 PM to let plants get water, and try to cool them off in the hottest part of the day too. Plants look good, but the squash bugs look like something out of a movie when I walk across the landscape fabric. Put another ounce of bayer on every plant yesterday.

Im hanging weed barrier on the ceiling of the kin cave to shade the young leafs,seems to be working real well
