I am not normally around to pollinate the watermelon due to work..but happen to catch one today...I am growing less pumpkins so I put 3 watermelon of them in my last years pumpkin pits(10 ft diameter x 2 ft deep) and they get some special stuff....so these watermelons plants are huge right now....and producing some great sized watermelon. In MN...we are lucky to get 2.5 to 3 cm...so hopefully it is a special year here! At least till the next Hail Storm! LOL.

Way to go Dave, I will have to come over and see these huge plants. I am still in the pollination stage now, with three set on one plant, 2 on another, 1 on another, and 0 on the last one. I am still early, so not terribly worried.

Not sure it took...a few more days to know...lots of watermelon are getting pollinated from the Bees...seem to have a hoard of them to choose from...maybe when I come back.

They are probably my bees Dave. I have one of my largest hives ever within range of your garden. I will also be gone those days doing a little canoeing in the BWCA.
I have been using the ice method on all my sets this year, and at this point I am 100%. I think I might be able to call this new technique a slam dunk.
