I'm sure it's been talked about here before, but can someone tell me what causes so many of my melon cots to be all wrinkled up? I started 10 seeds at the same time in same conditions this year. 4 look perfect, and 6 are all wrinkled up. This happens every year to me, it doesn't seem to make a difference in the end, just curious as to what could cause.

I had one germinate this year that had split and wrinkled cots(see my diary from a few days ago for a pic). However when I looked at it this morning it is developing its second leaf alredy. Need to get it in the ground this snowy weekend. So no concern here. I have noticed that not all seedlings are perfect. Out of all the veggies I start every year there is always a few out of every variety that have deformed cotyledons but they always seem to grow into healthy plants. I don't know what causes it either.

My 255 has wrinkled cots, but I have no worries as I have seen this before, no I do not know why it happens, I would think it is just the way it evelops with in the shell ?
