I am wondering if Marvin or anyone else had done a recross of the genetics that grew the 255 Mitchell. And if so are there any seeds available ? I can't wait to see how big a melon I am able to grow with my recross of the genetics that grew the 239 Leonard. I know that a recross doesn't assure the exact same genetics, but I think in the case of world class seeds they are worth investigating.

I still think chances are better with recreated genetics from a proven cross. I mean there is a chance that a recross might even be better than the original.

I didn't make a remake of the 255. I think i will try to do that in 2013. It would be nice to have 1000 more seeds to hand out.

Awesome Marvin. I think it will be wonderful to get a renewal on that particular cross. I mean since it is has proven itself as one of the best, if not the very best ever.
