Here is an idea that will work but may be unpopular. Hold the individual winners prize money until their reports are in. I can almost guarantee timely results. As a matter of fact why not amend the rules for 2012 and beyond to reflect this strategy ? It would certainly take any reluctance out of getting everyone's story. And if a grower fails to report; then their share of the prize money could stay in the bank to help cover club payouts for the following year.I am hoping to learn a lot from hearing about the growing strategies of all you heavy hitters.Please let us know about your soil and soil preparation.What amendments did you add to your soil? What fertilizers did you use? What did you do for insect and disease control? What type of irrigation system did you use and how did you sit it up? These are most of the things I wonder about. What kind of things would you other non top 10 growers want the "big boys" to discuss in their reports? I think these reports could be an extremely useful tool for us if you guys will be forthcoming with plenty of useful information.As a club member, I consider this the single most important thing the club can do for me and other non top ten members.Even some of you heavy hitters may be able to learn a thing or two from reading what the other prize winners have to say. What do you think?

We cant hold back money,could cause some bad resentments,We have most of them with great Information included,Todds,Chris Mine,Bill Edwards & more.We should have plenty of funds with 4 sponsors.This is not holding up newsletter we have been busy with Sponsors & membership packs.Sorry for the delay,were doing our best.

No worry Mark. I do believe everyone will cooperate anyway. And it is a part of our membership agreement for the top ten to at least tell a little about how they grew their melon. I personally know most of the top ten growers and I know them to be good honest forthcoming people.I am looking forward to what they have to say. Thanks for the prompt reply.
