I am a avid member of the Giant Watermelon Growers club. However I am a true believer in sharing seeds. Let's face it. There are enough seeds in a good Carolina Cross watermelon to give everyone in the club a few seeds each and still have enough left over for next year, some to grow for yourself and some to give away to your neighbors. It is great that the club is able to raise some of its funds this way and I participated in past auctions and actually bought some seeds. But I want to do all I can to promote the hobby and my seeds will be free to anyone who wants them. The economy is tough and we need to help one another as much as we can. I will of course fulfill club obligations and donate seeds from any melons that make it into the top ten at the end of a season. And please help the club out and possibly also yourself and bid if you have the money. I know a highly proven seed is little to pay in comparison to what some of us spend growing the giant melons. I just want everyone to know that if you want good seeds and don't have the funds to pay $50 to $100 seed; then let me know what I have that you may want and I will get them to you. I am sure there are many others on here ( most of us probably )who will gladly give their seeds away. And this includes GWG club officers. And also I believe there will be many lots of good seeds that will auction for a very modest price. If you are a club member and want to participate in these seed auctions please consider the GWG auctions as a first choice as some of the prize money we pay out comes from the monies collected from these sales and comes back to winning members.I just wish someone could figure out a business willing to sponsor us for a few grand a year. :-)

Big increase over past years!!! Somethin is growin, & I think that is due to the GWG!!! Kudo's to the GWG!!!! Peace, Wayne

There will always be free seeds thats great,Paying for them at auctions supports the Clubs & lets this sport grow at a faster rate.If you have a problem with paying, wait till Feb,there will be plenty given away.I pd 150$ for the 157 to support the club!I never really thought that seed who out produce the bigger hotter ones 239, 255.Please support the auctions this year, you will be more then happy with our new club!

In the beginning, shared watermelon seeds were like hen's teeth. I started the process of changing that by making sure that everyone who wanted seeds, got seeds.

Now I just get that great feeling when other growers are doing the same. Thanks Tennessee Dreamer for making seeds available.

I will also have seeds if anyone wants them.

173 WHITE (291 KENT X 35 KENT). The 35 KENT is the same female that grew the world record, crossed with the plant that created the 260 KENT.

If you want any, just let me know.

That 173 White has great potential.
