snakes, deer,rabbits,oh my, cuke beetles,squash bugs and a red ozze on a 285 Edwards pulled it up. sprayed for bugs today. will spray a fungcide soon!!! what is your take on the red ozze? Thanks Jerry

not good. Mine was gummy stem, better spray fungicide asap. how big are the plants ?

Must be warming up in MS. The critters are coming out. Pulling it up was a good move. Any stem issues this early creates big problems later. Learned that the hard way last year.

The 285 had about a one foot runner,the red ozze was at the top of the stump under the first tow leaves. I checked all the other plants they looked good but will spray asap. The row has a 221 edwards on it six feet away from were the 285 was, 221 just now starting to run. Most likely re plant for a late melon. chris the 264 is looking real good and the 291. Thanks Jerry

The 264 is an agressive looking plant at this point. It was really cold here last week, almost no growth in the garden. Back up to 90 now maybe that will get things going.
